H.S. Volleyball Update: The practice site has been moved to the high school. We are building an outdoor court for practices. Please spread the word. Again, practice is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. tomorrow.

High School Volleyball Update: Indoor practices are still not allowed at this time. Unfortunately, it is looking as though H.S. volleyball try-outs will need to take place outside. Try-outs will take place on Wednesday, August 12th and Thursday, August 13th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at THE PRIMARY SCHOOL (track/stadium area), unless gyms are allowed to open prior to Wednesday, August 12th. If so, we will provide an update.

High School Athletic practices are scheduled to start next week. There are still many "unknowns" at this time. As of today, indoor practices are still not allowed. We do not know when games/competitions will be allowed to start and if spectators will be allowed to attend. Also, we will be required to continue to conduct health screenings prior to every practice. Please make sure you have filled out the Covid-19 waiver form and also the MHSAA Health Questionnaire that will be required prior to the first practice. Please call me or text me with any questions (Mike Woodard (269) 217-8230). FOOTBALL: Starts on Monday, August 10th. Practices will be each day from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a break between sessions. Cross Country: Starts Wednesday, August 12th with a practice at the high school from 8 A.M. to 9 A.M. Practice on Thursday will be at the same time at the park behind the fire department. Practice on Friday will be at Fort Custer from 8:30 A.M.to 9:45 A.M. Soccer: Starts Wednesday, August 12th. Practices will take place at the high school soccer field from 5-7 p.m. each night. Cheerleading: Starts on Wednesday, August 12th. Cheer Camp/Try-outs will take place at the high school from 8 A.M. until 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Monday(17th), and Tuesday (18th) Plan to be outside unless we are allowed inside by that time.

G-A Community and Potential Football Players Football practice is set to begin on Monday, August 10. Practice will start promptly at 3 p.m. Prior to practice, each student will get a temperature check and asked a few short questions about their health. Therefore, the student/athlete should arrive to the school 15-20 minutes prior to the start of practices to ensure everyone gets through the line before practice begins. Our focus is to have a Junior Varsity team and a Varsity team. There is a new 5th quarter rule this year, which allows players to play 5 quarters of football a week between both levels, excluding seniors. Yesterday the Representative Council of the Michigan High School Athletic Association approved the next steps in returning sports for member schools, adopting a plan to phase in competition for Fall sports in hopes of continuing to deter the spread of COVID-19. The MHSAA will continue to be nimble and flexible in these uncertain times. The Michigan High School Athletic Association has relaxed the athletic physical requirement needed to participate in school sports for the 2020-21 school year. Student-athletes that had a valid physical on file last year can use that physical again this year, as long as the REQUIRED Health Questionnaire is completed. JV Soccer Update: We are still planning on offering a JV Soccer team this fall as long as fall athletics will be permitted by the M.H.S.A.A. and State of Michigan. However, we need to make sure we will have enough participants. Emails were recently sent out to all of the students who signed up to play on the Google Form that was sent out a couple of months ago. Each student has been asked to reconfirm their commitment since it may have changed due to Covid-19 or other circumstances. Please check your email if you were a student who filled out the form.
